A short conversation that was overheard between Bethanie and Sadie;
Sadie: Bethanie are you tired?
Bethanie: No
Sadie: But I saw you yawn!
Bethanie: Oh, I wasn't yawning... I was singing very big, silently.

One Smart Cookie
Bethanie's primary teacher in Rochester would always refer to her as "One Smart Cookie". It was so very sweet and I sometimes find myself repeating that term. I thought of that one yesterday when Bethanie was telling me about her day at preschool.
Bethanie told me that they were studying nutrition in school. They were talking about fruits and vegetables, and the good things that we should be eating.
Then she started to laugh.
She said, "Guess what they gave us for a snack today? Three pretzels and four candy corns! They teach us about nutrition, but they don't give us nutrition!"

It's Not Funny, I'm Serious!
Last night we were driving along while Bethanie, Sadie, and Aunt Kimberly were playing twenty questions.
It was narrowed down far enough for us to know that Bethanie was thinking of a Disney princess.
Sadie started her guesses;
Aurora - No
Jasmine - No
Cinderella - No
Belle - No
Tinkerbell - No
Charlie Brown? - (giggle, giggle) - No
Captain Carlos? - More laughing - No
That was when Sadie decided to delay the game and share her brilliant idea.
"We should name the baby Captain Carlos!! That is such a good name!"
We all started to laugh.
"It's not funny! I am serious! It is a good name."
This child would have no chance if he had a "mush-beard" and was named Captain Carlos!

3 AM
I woke up at 3 AM to see Sadie's face right in mine.
Sadie: "I am awake because my lips hurt"
Me: "Ok, you need chap stick. Just a minute, it takes me a little while to get up."
(This is where I try to roll my expanded rear end out of bed.)
Sadie: "Don't worry mom, I KNOW you waddle."
Me: "Thank you, Sadie."
Sadie: "Mom, the baby is going to have curly hair. He is. I know it. He will have curly hair."
Me: "Sadie, why are you so awake at 3 am?"
Sadie: "Because my lips hurt."

Word of the Day
Mush-beard
That is what Sadie calls it when a man has a mustache and a beard at the same time.
She just told my sister that our baby would be born with one.
We probably won't be sending out baby announcement pictures if that is the case.

Politically Correct 3 Year Old
This morning Bethanie was asking me where something that we had came from. I told her that the mail man brought it to our house.
That was when Sadie corrected me.
"Mom, that would be the mail CARRIER."
What would I do without her?

She Is Coming!
This morning I told Sadie that her Aunt Kimberly is coming to visit in a week. She did a little dance around the room and was yelling, "WOOHOO! Kimberly is coming. WOOHOO! Kimberly is coming!"
She suddenly stopped and looked at me and said,
"Mom, I will make sure not to sneak in her room when she is naked and getting dressed. I don't think that she likes that surprise."
Good plan, Sadie.

I Win
This morning, after the girls took a bath, Sadie curled up in a ball on the floor of her bedroom and put her towel over her whole body, including her head. This is the usual position that is assumed after a bath.
After a few minutes of helping Bethanie get dressed and ready, we heard a muffled voice from under Sadie's towel.
She said, "The first person to touch their towel wins! Oh- I win!"

Lots to say
It has been a crazy week, full of many memorable quotes from my kids. Also a very busy week, so I didn't have time to actually post the memorable quotes. My pregnant brain has already forgotten the "memorable" quotes. :)
Here are a couple of my favorites that I have been meaning to post.
Christmas morning;
Sadie opened her first present from Santa Claus. It was a "cooking Barbie".
Sadie: "Ok, now I need to open my pat-pat rocket from Santa".
Her parents: "What? How do you know Santa brought you a rocket? You don't know if he brought one for sure."
Sadie: "He did! Where is it? I know it is here."
A couple of days later;
Me: "Hey Sweet-pea, can you grab me that?"
Sadie: "I am NOT a pea! But I am very, very sweet!"
On the trip to grandma and grandpa's house for the New Year;
Sadie: "Worms don't know fashion. Boys don't know fashion. Girls know fashion. Daddy only knows a little bit of fashion because mommy told him."
Bethanie is being her usual sweet self. She is having a ball with her cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She looks very grown up in her new clothes that she got for Christmas.
Than there is me... You just KNOW you look pathetic when you walk past someone and they give you that look and say, "Oh, you poor thing!"
February can't come soon enough!
Sean agrees. :)
