You're Gonna Need An Ocean of Calamine Lotion!
Day 2 of our trip was a little bit stressful. The quarter sized patch of poison ivy that Sadie had on Thursday was now covering her chest and face. A call to the doctor's office at home and a trip to the pharmacy did the trick. Wesley must have been jealous of the crazy vibe surrounding Sadie; He decided to get a stick of taffy stuck in his hair.

Road Trip!
We got on the road by 6:15 am, but quickly realized that Jolie was not going to make the drive very easy. She spent a great deal of our long day screaming her head off. Good times!
We were so excited to stop in Palmyra along our way and see our wonderful friends! (I recognize that they don't all look that thrilled here, but the pizza and park were fun. )

Like Fish
Their swimming has improved so much in the last month. Bethanie and Sadie are perfecting their "starts" (dives) and have even been working on the butterfly stroke. Their coach, Cory, says they are about ready to compete in the fall. (Taking a break for cross country team.)
Brady and Wesley are doing so much better as well. They love their instructor, Chaz, and look forward to swimming.
It's been a great month. We are hoping to squeeze another week or two in between all of our other summer activities.

Thanks to these guys for talking my kids through extreme shivers, potato bug dives, gold medal belly flops, and refusals to blow bubbles.

It May Sound Like Good Logic
Me: "Brady, your dad keeps asking you to clean your room and you aren't doing it. Show him you love him and just do it."
Brady: "But sometimes he tells me no."
Happy Father's day, honey. You are a great dad, even if (and especially since) you tell your kids "no".

Game Ball
Brady is having so much fun in his first year of baseball. He has improved so much since the beginning of the season. It is a lot of fun to watch. Sean is having fun as one of the FIVE coaches of the team. (Woohoo for supportive parents! )
This season Brady has already earned his ice cream sundae that his dad promised him if he caught a ball.
Brady was thrilled to bring home the game ball after a great game today.

Desperate Measures
Sean was desperate to get the kids to help clear the table. We have had the rule for some time, it just didn't seem to mean anything to them.
Out of desperation he made up a song. We now sing it every night when dinner ends.
(Sung to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It")
No one leaves the dinner table til it's cleared!
No one leaves the dinner table til it's cleared!
No one leaves the dinner table, cause we don't live in a stable,
No one leaves the dinner table 'til it's cleared!
