Will I Wait For You?

Me: "Sadie, you can not date Owen S until you are 16."
Sadie: "Oh man! He's only 5!"

Yes We Can!

Do you see those tiny little staples? Brady and I spent the afternoon hammering away at a bazillion of them. We need to get them all flush to the sub-floor before the new flooring goes in.

Whose Side Are You On?

Brady: (holding his hand to his face like he is talking in to a walkie-talkie)
"Calling all mommies! Calling all mommies! Someone is being naughty out here!"

Double Agent?

Just the Right Size

Brady picked up the measuring tape this morning and decided to measure himself to see how tall he is.
When he was all finished he looked at the tape and announced, "I am three years tall!"

Autobiographical Lyrics

Brady has been writing a lot of songs lately. He loves to share them with us. Yesterday, on the way home from a church activity, Brady made up a new song.
"Daddy cut the cheese and gave a piece to me..."

He may or may not have been singing about a dairy product. ;)

Which Leads Me to My Second Question...

Me: "Brady, why are you crying?"
Brady: "I can't get the macaroni noodle out of my nose."

Multi-Functional Tool

Sean put a pair of pants on Saturday that had two big holes in the knees. He was ready to get to work. Brady saw him and said; "Dad! There are holes in your pants! You need duck tape."

I'm Getting a Reputation

Yesterday we were sitting at the dinner table laughing about something. Sadie suddenly stopped laughing, shot me a look, and said; "Oh mom, you are going to put this on the blog, aren't you?"

He Dresses Himself!

Brady likes to change from his jeans and t-shirts in to his pajamas when we are going out in to public.
I just have to not look the old ladies in the eye. They are judging me. All of them.

50 Cartons

This morning I let my kids know that I needed to move all of the cartons of flooring so I could start ripping up carpet in the front half of the living room. They asked if they could help out. I was all for that, as it was going to be a slow task.

I went to make their breakfast and came back to find this;

Brady said, "Mom, we will work until the sun goes down if we have to!"
They are so proud of themselves and I don't have to move cartons. Woohoo! Everyone wins.

Cousins to the Shoe Elves

After a long and very exhausting day, Sean and I were up until 1am last night doing some more work on our floors.
This morning Brady went downstairs, looked at the floor, and said, "Mom, look! While we were sleeping someone finished our floor here!"

I Empathize

Brady: "Mom, my brain is just tired. My brain is sick and tired."

Back

The world's coolest husband, (that would be mine), let me go to Utah for a week BY MYSELF. He took our kids to NY to hang out with his mom for spring break.
Sean got to experience a 10 hour road trip there and back, by himself with three kids. He got to take Brady to the bathroom every 15 minutes. He got to figure out what to feed them every two hours, because they were already hungry again. He even got to break up fights. All of this for an entire week. (With some assistance from his mom, of course.)
I even came home yesterday to a clean house. How cool is that?

I had a fantastic time visiting my family. We ate too much and laughed a lot. We also got to celebrate my sister, Kimmy's, birthday by enjoying a pedicure and lunch out. One of the best parts of the week was when the doctors decided that my extremely tiny niece, Payton, was ready to leave the hospital, only 22 days after being born 9 weeks early.

So, when all was said and done Sean admitted that he was ready to go back to work and that I "deserved the break". I am grateful he was willing to take time off to do that for me AND that he recognized that my work is not easy. I will readily admit that I know his work isn't easy either.
Back to life. :)
