I Want My Money Back

When my sister was here she introduced our family to the singer, Lenka. My girls LOVE the music video on youtube. Sadie wants to watch it all of the time and has almost all of the words memorized.
The other day she was walking around the house singing, "I want my dollar back!I want my dollar back!"
Here is a link to the video that they love;

Enjoy "The Show"

This other Lenka song is basically Sadie's theme song. :D

Ursula Has Great Powers

Sadie:
"When my teacher at preschool gets mad she sounds just like the sea witch on Little Mermaid."

Do you think this is before or after she morphs in to the giant monster?

It Couldn't Be So

On the way home from picking up Bethanie, Sadie declared,
"Brady is too cute to be made of snakes and snails and puppy dogs tails!"

How Can I Help You?

Many of my faithful few readers know that I work from home. I work for an airline based in Kuwait. They fly between Kuwait to Baghdad and back. Our customers consist mostly of military personnel and contractors. I take reservations and answer questions.
I have worked for Gryphon Airlines for a little over a year. My kids have listened to me take reservations for a little over a year.
Someone listening in on my kids playing might just raise an eyebrow.
Sadie: "What is your confirmation number?"
This is where Bethanie makes up a number.
Sadie: "Would you like to go to Baghdad or Kuwait?"
Bethanie: "I will be going to Baghdad. Do I need a VISA?"
Sadie: "No. Will you be carrying on your luggage?"
Bethanie: "Yes"

Future reservationists...

Let Me Clarify

We have all been unusually tired around here. I am pretty sure we are fighting some bug. We are talking 7pm and we are wondering if it is bedtime yet, kind of tired. That is after getting a nap during the day!
The kids are also tired. Unfortunately, it is taboo to take a nap when you are that age. Sadie has been crying for a week about EVERY LITTLE THING!!
I told her that people don't want to play with her when she is acting like that. She said she was done crying.
About 5 minutes later she was crying about something else that was ridiculous. I said, "Sadie! Stop crying!"

"I am not crying mom.... I am whining."

Fashion Savvy

Sadie is usually a very fashion conscientious child. She even likes to advise the brethren at church on fashion. She has recently amended her firm stance that "boys don't know fashion" to "SOME boys don't know fashion", but as a whole, she is an authority on the matter and the boys don't know as much as she does.
This morning she insisted on dressing herself. She got quite creative. I think I am going to have to specify that she picked this one out on her own.

(Yes, the look on her face is an angry one. She didn't really want her picture taken.)

What a Bore

Last night Sadie told Sean that sleeping is "too long and boring". She just doesn't like doing it.
Apparently pre-school is even more long and boring because she told Jeff,
"When I am at school I just sleep with my eyes open..."

All of the Fun Stuff

I really love the age that Brady is at right now. From about 9 months to about 2 years, babies do so many new and adorable things. While you might not find it at all interesting, I love listening to Brady yell, "MOM! MOM!"
I also love watching him crawl as fast as he can over to the door when he hears daddy walk in.
I love watching him wave to everyone. He especially loves to wave bye bye to his sister's bus in the morning. Too cute.
I think it is really funny that he tries to push Bethanie and Sadie off of my lap so he can get on it. (That won't be as cute in a year.)
I love when he pounds on the basement door when his sisters go down there because he wants to go too!
It is fascinating to watch this kid eat. He ate two pieces of veggie pizza last night for dinner... and a few slices of orange. He topped that all off with a cup of milk.
I think it is so adorable that he walks sideways along furniture AND when his dad holds his hands up so he can walk. He hasn't figure out how to walk forward yet. (It takes a little longer to get to where you want to when you walk sideways. :D)
I love hearing his little "uh-oh". I still think it is cute when he makes messes. I think it is hilarious when he hangs by his fingers from furniture.
Like I said, nothing that interesting for anyone else, but as a mom... I just love it.

Super Mom

This morning Sadie assigned me my super powers. She handed me a piece of paper that held the keys for those powers. I was told to keep the paper in a safe place. I am not to keep the paper in my hair, or my nose, or use it to poke out my eye, or put it in my ear or mouth. My pocket is an acceptable place.
I was very glad for the clarification.
My super power is to help other people when they need it. Very useful.

Nobody Wants to Grow Up and Be a Junkie...

About every 30 minutes since we got home from NY I have heard this from Sadie, "Can I have some junk food? I am a junk food junkie!"
She told us a few times that she is done with junk food because Sportacus says it is bad news, but that only lasted about 30 minutes until she was due to ask again.
Ahhhhhh!
Maybe I should put this picture on our refrigerator and pantry! (It might even provide motivation for the rest of us.)

It's a Statue

I have yet to figure out how to upload videos to this dumb blog. I have tried on many occasions and I always get an error. So... you will have to click on the link "Dinosaur Poop" in order to see this video.
In my opinion, it is worth your time. :D

I should get back to my regular blogging soon. Life has been busy and there are sick people in my house... me included.
I hope all of our friends and family had a fantastic start to their new year!

An Addition to the Fam

We are still here. We have been quite busy. Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Kimmy are both visiting. Aunt Kimmy is here until January 11. Uncle Jeffrey is here until mid-June.
I have been busy trying to get Jeff enrolled in the local high school. This is all new for me. It should be a fun few months though.
