This morning Sadie was asking me about my mom's mother. She is quite concerned that my mom doesn't have any living parents. She asked if my mom's parents would be resurrected. I told her that they would. She asked, "When?"
I told her they would be resurrected after Jesus returned to the earth.
"When will Jesus come back, mom"
"No one knows except Heavenly Father and Jesus, honey."
"I need to know."
"We just have to watch, wait, and be really good while we are waiting."
"Mom, I am going to make a timer. It is going to count down the time until Jesus comes. Then I will know when He is coming and when all of the people will be resurrected. I will do it as soon as I get home!"
The timer has been made. It is sitting on our table. If anyone is interested to know what it says, give me a call. lol

Back to the Future
The other day I got a strange phone call on my cell phone. It threw me about 25 years in to the future! The lady on the other end asked if she could please talk to Bethanie.
I told her that I was Bethanie's mom and I could help her. She told me that Bethanie had scheduled a Kindergarten screening for her son, Sean, but had missed the appointment.
For a moment in time I was a grandmother. :) As if that wasn't weird enough, my husband was now my grandson. :)
I explained to this lady that Bethanie was actually the child, and Sean, the father, forgot to tell Amy, the mother, that Bethanie had a Kindergarten screening!
It was rescheduled. We are now back in 2008.

Thinking Clearly
It really is so much fun to watch my kids get older. It is fun to watch them learn and to see how they are processing new things.
Yesterday on the way to church Bethanie made up a little game. She came up with little riddles and we had to guess the answers. Sadie joined in. They were coming up with some great stuff!
One of Bethanie's riddles was this;
If it grows on the ground you can't eat it. If you get it from a can than you can eat it.
Sadie's riddle was this;
It is sometimes black. You buy it green. You eat it when it is yellow.
Here is another one of Sadie's;
It's red and sweet, it's green and sour.
I can't help it, I think they are smart kids. :)
Anyone want to answer these riddles?

Peter Pan Syndrome
Sadie doesn't want to grow up. She has decided that 5 is the optimal age. She decided she is going to reach 5 and then stay there.
When you think about it, 5 is a pretty good age to go with. Kindergarten is fabulous. Your responsibilities consist of keeping your room clean, setting the table, and taking your dish to the sink. It is ok if your clothes don't match, you are exercising your creativity. Good is good, naughty is bad. You get to go to primary. You are encouraged to run and play all summer long.
I think Sadie has a great idea.

She Knows Fashion
On Sunday Sadie was sent up to her room to change out of her church clothes. She came running in to the kitchen dressed in a t-shirt and jeans.
She started shaking her little hips back and forth and chanting,
"Look mom! I got style, I got style!!"

Me
I know I usually write about my kids, but I had to share this. Last night I had a really creepy dream. You know the kind where the tone of the dream is just scary and no matter what it is about you wake up feeling creeped out?
My family and I were going along this river of molten hot lava in a canoe. There was lightening crashing everywhere. The lightening was beautiful, but it was a scary beautiful. I was taking pictures. It was a highly stressful situation that I was trying to feel better about.
Suddenly I felt someone watching us. It was the feeling that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I hate that feeling!
I turned to see what it was when I saw the creepiest thing I have ever seen in my life.
Sadie's toothbrush was following us. It started to chase us. It really was awful.
I am not making that up.

Brady's Blessing
Brady was blessed on Sunday. Grandma and Grandpa, along with Aunt Sarah, came to visit for the occasion.
Unfortunately, we didn't get pictures until after we got home from church and Sadie had fallen fast asleep on the way home.
We really don't think it is good idea to wake a sleeping bear, so we let her sleep.
Here are some pictures, minus our tired little Sadie.

Go Ahead And Prove Me Wrong!
Yesterday Bethanie asked me what happens that makes people blind or deaf. I explained that some people are born that way, some people get sick and it happens, and some people have some sort of injury to the eye or ear.
The girls didn't understand the injury thing. I told them if they stuck a pencil in their eye they wouldn't be able to see anymore.
Bethanie said that sometimes she pokes her eye and she can still see.
I told Bethanie that it takes a very big poke to injure your eye.
That was when Sadie decided to prove me wrong. She started trying to poke her own eye out with her finger.
"See mom? I poked my eye. I am not blind. I poked it again. I can still see. I did it again... You are wrong. You can not poke your eye out!"
I told her that I believed her and asked her to please stop. :0)

The Happy Hands Club
My baby brother, Jeffrey, had to do an assignment in his sign language course. The teacher chose the best performance of the class and posted it on youtube! I wanted to share, because it is fun. Jeff is an actor, and he and his friend really hammed this one up. They did a great job. Enjoy!

I'm Doing the "Tooshie Shaker"
What is the tooshie shaker? Well, that is a little dance that Sadie does. One would think that she would be shaking her fanny while doing this dance, but that is not how it works. Her toosh is completely still and her arms do all of the moving. I am working on getting a video of it for the site, but for now this explanation will have to do.
Why am I doing the tooshie shaker? That would be because I got SEVEN hours of sleep last night!!
Brady went three hours between feedings last night. I feel like a new woman.
I have so much energy, I am driving my husband crazy. I have been dancing all around the house.
The sun is shining in the bright blue sky, the little daffodils are coming out in my new front yard, a prophet of the Lord is speaking to us during General Conference this weekend, I got seven hours of sleep, and life is good. :)

A Challenge
At Brady's one week appointment he was 9 ounces under his birth weight of 7.8 lbs. When he went back at two weeks he was still 5 ounces under his birth weight. I started to call him my little runt.
Apparently he took that as a challenge!
Brady has been sick with RSV since he was 2 weeks old. Every dr I have talked to has stressed the importance of his eating and not losing weight. Yesterday I found myself at the dr's office again with him.
The poor little guy now has a stomach virus. No one else in my family has it. Where did he get this one?
Anyway, even with the stomach virus, fever, etc., this kid still weighed in at 12.5 lbs at 7 weeks old!
Now I need to somehow challenge him to sleep a little bit at night. : P

You Have To Come Too!
Sadie is going through that stage in life when the thought of growing up and leaving mommy for more than a few hours is terrifying.
Yesterday the girls and I were watching a "cooking show" together. This is one of Sadie's favorite things. She told me she was going to go to cooking school like aunt Kimmy. I asked her if she wanted to do a tv show or work in a restaurant. She got a little nervous and said that she wanted to work in a restaurant. That was followed with,
"But only if you come and stand next to me and eat all of my food."
I agreed. We can talk details in a few years. :)

Shock-ah-lee-tah
That is how you phonetically spell the name of Sadie's baby doll. Shock-ah-lee-tah.
She named her baby that her Grandma bought her for her birthday back in October. That name hasn't changed. It is still Shockahleetah. Don't ask me how she spells it. I would guess she would throw a Q in there somewhere.
Where does she get this name?? If there is anything she owns that she can name, you can bet that name is as different as her baby doll's.
If you know a Shockahleetah, don't be offended! Just email me and tell me how to spell it. :)
