This year was one of our more dramatic years. Bethanie was sent home sick from school, so was not able to go trick or treating. That was devastating to her. Before you go and feel too bad for her, she did go to the church trunk or treat on Saturday and came home with a bucket full of candy, and many of our neighbors compensated for her loss on Halloween night by sending her siblings home with items for her.
This year Brady was Lightning McQueen, Sadie was a bat, and Bethanie was a witch.

Can I Get A Flu Shot??
The girls had their yearly check ups today. Brady had to come along. He was so sad that he didn't get to wear one of those very modest and flattering night gowns that open up in the back, just like his sisters. He felt so left out.
The only way I could help him feel better was by promising him that he could get a flu shot. (No, I am not kidding.)
He was skipping around the room saying, "I am getting a flu shot! I am getting a flu shot!"
After he actually got the flu shot he wasn't as excited.
I am excited that it is all done. :)

Liquid Gold
Me: "Sadie, get dressed and come downstairs."
Sadie: -Sob-
Me: "Sadie, you are going to miss the bus. Get dressed and come downstairs!"
Sadie: -Sob-"I don't have any clothes I want to wear."
Me: "Sadie, get dressed and come downstairs or you will be grounded after school."
Sadie: -Sob,sob,sob,sob-
-10 minutes later-
Me: (yelling up the stairs to her) "Sadie I made hot chocolate."
Sadie: "Be right down, mom!"

It's Off to Work We Go!
This morning Brady got up and dressed himself in one of his nice dress shirts and a pair of khaki slacks, then threw on a baseball cap for good measure.
He walked in and tapped Sean on the shoulder, (he was still sleeping), and informed Sean that he was dressed and ready to go to work with dad today.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a good day for that, as Sean's day is filled with meetings. He did promise Brady that he can come in and visit soon.

Anudder Brudder
Brady has been insisting that the new baby coming to our family has got to be a "brudder" (Brother).
He was absolutely ecstatic this morning when Sean told him that the new baby is in fact, a boy.
He went squealing through the house, "I knew it was a brudder! I knew it was a brudder!"
We are excited to have another little boy come to our family, and that we can carry on the "even-steven" tradition that seems to be going on with Sean's siblings. They all have the same number of boys and girls!

Snakes, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails
Me: "Brady, look at those trees! The colors are so pretty. Don't you love the pretty trees?"
Brady: "Mom, I am a boy. I don't like pretty things."

Yeah, It Has Started
Bethanie was invited to a birthday party this morning for a little girl from church. I told her I was going to go jump in the shower and she needed to get dressed, then I would take her over.
Bethanie: "But mom.... you aren't STAYING, right??"

Watch Out For Those!
Brady: "Mom, why did you stop?"
Me: "Because there are cars coming and I don't want us to get hit by a car."
Brady: "Or hit by a man on a scooter, right?"
