It's a Matter of Life and Death

Much to my dismay, there is a lot of candy leftover from Jeff's Birthday party last night. The kids keep trying to sneak handfuls. Sean told the kids that they could not have any more candy until after they had their dinner tonight.
Brady and Sadie were not fond of the arrangement. A few minutes after the edict Sadie came running through the room screaming, "The boy needs chocolate, give this boy some chocolate! The BOY NEEDS CHOCOLATE!"
Brady chased closely behind yelling, "Give this boy some chocolate!"

Try That Again, Dad

This morning (at 6am) Brady led Sean and I in a round or two of the ABC's. Brady was kind enough to stop Sean halfway through and correct him. "No Dad! It's K Elmo P!"

Dr Scholl's, Maybe?

Sadie: "Mom, I have a big beard on my toes, but I like it there, so I keep it covered so you won't make me get rid of it."

Sand Storms

We don't get a lot of sandstorms here in the states. It is a lot more common in Kuwait, where the company I work for is based. I guess my kids have heard me talk about them.
This morning after Sadie and Brady's bath they ran around butt naked and screamed that mom, the "sand storm", was after them. I couldn't talk them in to getting dressed, so I finally informed them that sand is very uncomfortable between the "cheeks", so they better hurry and get dressed before the wind blows their direction. It worked.
Sometimes we just have to get creative.

Rules Were Made to Be Broken

Today I explained to Sadie that in America the rule for reading is left to right. She told me not to tell her what to do.

Doesn't Matter If You're Black Or White

I have tried to teach my children about equality. We are all children of a Heavenly Father who loves us, no matter what we look like, or what color our skin is.
I didn't realize that Brady was listening so intently. He just walked in covered head to toe in black marker. He even got to the inside of his ears!
This kid has such a weird obsession with MARKERS!! Where is he getting them??

It's a Hard Knock Life

Sadie is a(very)whiny, sick kid today. When told she would be taking a nap this afternoon, she replied;
"Mom, sleeping is one of the worst things about my whole life!"
What would it be like if we all had such a trial?

"Two" Cute

Brady is two today. Here is a little bit about my little prince;

-Brady loves trucks, trains, cars, and firetrucks. He likes making sound effects for them as he pushes them across the floor, or flies them through the air.
-Brady speaks in full sentences. We don't always understand exactly what he is saying, but this is a kid with a lot on his mind!
-Brady gives the biggest hugs that I have ever received in my life. He follows them up with a very sweet, "I wuv you!". Most of the time he will top it off with a big kiss.
-Brady adores his sisters and his Uncle Jeff.
-Brady LOVES talking to Darney, Deedah, Grandma, and any aunts or uncles on the phone or skype. He likes to show them his cars.
-Brady's favorite book is "Roosevelt Rhino".
-Brady's favorite show is "Dinosaur Train".
-Brady's favorite food is anything Mexican. Add some medium salsa and he is in heaven. He can also eat a whole tomato by himself.
-Brady loves to go "bye-bye" and/ or play outside.
-When Brady gets in trouble he frowns and says, "Sorry mom, I dint mean to."
-Brady is like a little Linus. He loves his blankey and his paci, and his mom is too whimpy to take them from him!

Brady keeps us very busy. He already loves teasing his sisters. His signature move is taking a big drink and spraying it all over them and everything else.
We adore the kid. He brings sunshine in to our house.
Happy Birthday, big boy!

Just Leave the Chickens Alone

The other day Sean told me not to count my chickens before they are laid. :D

All Because of Witches In the Toilet

Bethanie: "How many diamonds did you give the witches in the toilet today?"
Me: "What? There are witches in the toilet? I see that as a problem."
Sadie: "It's a game I play in the bathroom. There are witches in the toilet."
Me: "Shaking my head. Wow Sadie. You are the most interesting kid I have ever met."
Jeff: (Walks in) "What?"
Me: " Sadie was just explaining a game that she played."
Sadie: "DON'T TELL JEFF!!" (Here is where she starts crying)

Bethanie told Jeff

Sadie threw a hard, plastic sheep at Bethanie's head.
Bethanie started sobbing like she just lost a limb.
5 minutes until the bus comes, I looked at her and notice that she has spilled her breakfast shake all down the front of herself. Pants, clothes, etc.
Sadie gets sent to her room.
Bethanie has to run and change her clothes. She gets to the bus with seconds to spare.

Oh, Yeah? Well I...

Jeff: "...my friend saw the blood and passed out..."

Sadie: "The other day I passed in."
