Why Has No One Ever Thought of This?

Last night my boys went to the Monster Truck show. They were both giddy with excitement. On the way there, Sean picked up some noise cancelling ear muffs so Brady wouldn't go deaf from the sounds of the trucks and listening to all of the rednecks scream. (Sean included.)
This morning Brady came up with an idea he thought was thoroughly fantastic.

"Dad, I am going to wear these to church today!!"

Why?

Brady is going through the "Why" phase. Half of the time we can't even get an answer out before he is asking the next question. You can definitely tell that his brain is working through things.
This morning a conversation with his dad went like this;
Brady: "Dad, remember when we went to Connorsville and rode the train?"
Sean: "Yes, I do."
Brady: "Why does Connor have a ville?"

I Want That Job

Brady: "Why do daddys drive to work, put money in to their pockets, and then drive home, every day?"
Sean: " I didn't know there were jobs like that! I want to get that job!"
Me: "I suggest we find you pants with bigger pockets."

My Apologies

Brady: "Mom, will you please take my trains up to my room for me?"
Me: "Brady, I am making breakfast. Why don't you take them upstairs?"
Brady: "Why do you have to fight me about this?"

When the Cat is Away, the Mice.. Eat Frozen Yogurt

Sean was out of town on Monday. The kids were home from school and we were all way overdue for a down day. We spent the majority of the day in our pajamas. For dinner we went out and got some frozen yogurt and cheesy garlic bread.
When my kids found out that they were having frozen yogurt for dinner they were actually upset. They made me cut up oranges and apples for them. Ha!

The Difference Between Boys and Girls

I have mentioned Brady and his little friend, Isabelle, before.
Recently they were together playing. When Isabelle got home from our house she was really upset. When her mom asked her what was wrong she said, "BRADY! I wore my new dress today and he didn't even tell me I looked pretty!"
Brady got a hair cut a few days ago and promptly said he was excited to show it to Isabelle. As soon as he saw her he told her that he got a new haircut and asked her if she liked it.

I guess I am going to have to start training Brady to read a girl's mind a lot earlier than I thought.

That's Code For What?

Brady (with shifty eyes) : "Mom, there was a leak in the water factory."

Translation: I just spilled a lot of water all over the kitchen floor.

Tweezers, Please!

Brady in frustration: "Mom, I can't get the right words to come out of my mouth! Can you get them out for me please?"

Create

Sadie: "Mom, I am pretty sure I was born to do crafts."

It's funny she should say that. I can't seem to get enough of this video that goes right along with that.

The Perfect Recipe

Sadie: "Mom, I want an english muffin for breakfast."
Me: "Sorry, Sadie. We don't have any."
Sadie: "I will make one then. I will just need some english bread."

A Frog In His Throat

Brady is sick with a cold. This evening his voice started fading. The poor little thing asked me to wipe off his face. His voice didn't come out the way he wanted it to. He started to tear up a bit and added, "Can you wipe off my voice too?"

Candy, Candy Canes, Candy Corns, and Syrup

We had spaghetti for dinner. Bethanie helped me set the table. I had to take the syrup off of the table twice before we started.

Is Road Rage Genetic?

Road rage has been lovingly passed through the generations of my family. My father's father to him. My father to me. Even though Brady takes so much from his dad, he seems to have picked up something from my gene pool.

Brady, playing with his hot wheels garage; "You stupid car! Move! Wait your turn!"
