After a few months of pure INsanity I prayed and prayed about what to do this summer that would help me keep my kids entertained and not keep me exhausted.
As always, prayers were answered. I am very happy with the plan. It is so very simple and I have had amazing results!
Mondays- Picnic day. This can be a picnic in the backyard, park, or anywhere else we decide to take a sack lunch!
Tuesdays- Summer Camp Day! Ok, this one is kind of cheating, but they get to go to the preschool for 4 hours, take a lunch, make crafts, play with other kids... and I get to go grocery shopping without them. :)
Wednesdays- WATER DAY! This one is a favorite. They get to run through the sprinklers. I think further in to the summer we might buy a wading pool. The sprinkler that we got was $10 at wal-mart and shoots little balls out. The kids love it.
Thursdays- Movie Day! The kids get to pop some pop corn and watch a movie. They watch movies all of the time, but if you pop some pop corn and call it movie day it makes all of the difference in the world.
Friday- Also another favorite. This is fun with friends day. We invite some friends to do something with us. They can come over to our house, we can go to theirs, or we can go on an outing.
The great thing about this plan is that if the timing isn't right, like rain on water day, it is very easy to switch the days around.
My kids get up every morning and tell me what today is and what we need to do. They are happy, I am happy, and we aren't using a lot of gas money!!
LOVE IT!
