Easter Sunday

I LOVE Easter! It's my favorite holiday. I love spring time, I love Easter candy, but most importantly, I LOVE the celebration of the atonement and resurrection of Christ. What a beautiful blessing!

At our house we celebrated by having Golden Toast for breakfast, Easter baskets with too much  a little bit of candy and small gifts, church, and a dinner and egg hunt with friends.

It's Hard Work

Towards the end of sacrament meeting at church. (Our main worship meeting)

Brady: "Mom, can I please go get a drink of water? I am so thirsty."
Me: "This will be over in a few minutes. You can get a drink then."
Brady: "But mom! Listening to the gospel is hard work! It makes me so thirsty!"

Buy and Sell

The fourth grade is working on economics right now. Every year the fourth graders put on a "buy and sell day". The other kids in the school get to take their play money that they have been earning throughout the year and buy the things that the older kids have made for the event.
Bethanie has been talking about this day for 3 years. She considered many different things that she would want to sell when she was finally a fourth grader. The day has almost arrived.
She will be selling clay necklaces and Christmas ornaments.
For the last week this project has taken over our lives and our kitchen. We are ready to get them both back. :)
(The ornament has the name of the school she goes to on it, but for purposes of internet safety, was edited out for the picture.)

Brace Yourself!

Sadie was our first kid to get braces. This is only phase one, so she will probably get a second round in a couple of years. I am sure she will be thrilled. Sean and I are just as excited to pay for them. : P
I am grateful we can pay for them though, so that our happy Sadie will not be afraid to smile later on in life.

Is It Me?

Me: Singing (and possibly dancing as well...) "Shake, shake, shake. Shake, shake, shake. Shake your booty! Shake your booty!"

Brady: "Mom, that is gross. I will never, ever shake my booty."

Shedd Aquarium

We finally made it to Chicago! Sean's mom is visiting and so we decided to take a day trip to Chicago while she is here. We had so much fun at the aquarium. Yes, Sean was there with us. Apparently, he didn't make it in to any of the pictures.  As you can see, Sadie has turned us all in to frog fans. I didn't post even half of the frog pictures that we have.

A Regular Picasso

Sadie is the queen of dawdling in the morning. She was making her sandwich for her lunch, when I looked over to see her spending extensive time and energy spreading her mustard just so.

Me: "Sadie, it is a sandwich, not a painting."
Sadie: "Ha! Maybe it is a painting, mom!"
Bethanie: "I call it, 'The morning I missed the bus...' "
