Jeff Graduated

Jeff isn't one of my kids, but he is my baby brother and he has been an honorary member of this family for a year and a half now while living with us.
He graduated from high school yesterday. We are more than thrilled... to have that over with. :D
The school superintendent brought up the fact that this graduating class started school in 1997. Does that make anyone else cough and sputter?

Soap! Poisoning!

I will be honest, on occasion an expletive escapes my mouth. I am not proud of that. Those words are mild compared to the words that Sadie has picked up. I have no idea where she is getting these words, but it has become a very bad habit. We were finally able to break the habit when Sean had Sadie take a big bite out of the soap and suck on that for a few seconds.
At least she is now afraid of saying the actual words. Instead she just tells me that she is so mad that she would "really like to say the f word right now!"
This child is FIVE!! (Palm to Head)Heaven help me.

The Definition of Silly-Bandz

Silly Bandz /Sill-ee Bahndz/ n.

Extremely popular crazy fad that is quickly sweeping the country. Can be used as a bribe in order to induce voluntary acts of cleaning for children between the ages of 2 and 7.
Pretty much genius.

abcde-ghijk

Sadie had her kindergarten screening today. They needed to see where she placed for next year.
The screener came back afterwards and had some great things to say about her. She said that Sadie had amazing problem solving skills and was a very smart little girl.
She was also very eager to share a "story" with me about the screening.
She was asking Sadie about the sounds that letters make and got to the letter "f".
Sadie responded; "I'm sorry, I can't tell you that one."
Screener: "Why not?"
Sadie:"Because it sounds like a bad word and my parents get mad. I don't want soap in my mouth."

Mass Emails

Sadie recently learned how to send an email by herself. The unfortunate side to that is that she doesn't know how to start a new email, she just replies to ones already written.
If you receive an email from me with a text body that reads something like "poop", please be advised that I did not write it.

-I am just really thankful she didn't choose to respond to my work emails... although...
