Considering His Options

Today Brady was thumbing through a magazine that I was given. It is all about Superman for the past 75 years. He turned to me and said, "Mom, I bet you can't make a whole lot of money stopping bad guys and being a super hero."
Me: "No. Not really. Clark Kent had a second job as a reporter."
Brady: "So Superman had to have two jobs??"
Me: "Yes."
Brady: "Hmmmm"

Manly Men Can Craft

Today I was doing a little crafting and Brady decided that he was going to assist me. I handed him a sponge brush and let him do some painting.
His comment while he was painting, "Mom, I think crafting is just like camping. When you go camping you ARE going to get dirty, but you have to try to only get a little dirty. I think when you craft you ARE going to get messy, but you have to try to only get a little messy."

Mother/ Son bonding moments. ;)

Last Performance

Yesterday Bethanie had her last choir performance of the season. It was a blessing to be able to watch her. I was able to help out behind the scenes this year and spend a lot of time with her at concerts!

Father / Son Camping 2013

Every May there is a Father/ Son camp out through our church. Last night was the night! Brady has been looking forward to this since last year. He was all packed to go by 7:45am. He and Sean headed out the door at about 5pm. It was a long day for the poor kid.
Somehow the camp out was actually cancelled, due to rain, but it stopped raining right before Sean and Brady got there. Sean figured they may as well stay. He and Brady were the only ones that actually slept there over night. There were a couple of dads and sons that came for the camp fire and then left to sleep at home. Brady had a blast and loved the time with his dad.

What I Love About Sean

We are celebrating 12 years of marriage today. I am very thankful that Sean married me! Here are a few things that I love about you, my wonderful husband;

I love that you went to stake conference on Sunday, even though you didn't feel like it. I love that you do your home teaching. I love that you are so helpful around the house. I love that you took apart the dishwasher and scrubbed the yuck off of it. I love that you come home early on Tuesdays so that your daughter can go to choir, because you know it is important to her and because you know it makes my life easier. I love that I occasionally get messages from you during the work day saying that you miss me.    I love that you help the kids with homework when they need it. I love that you support my calling. I love that you have no problem changing diapers and cleaning bathrooms. I love how much you love our kids. I love how much you love your parents and sisters. I love that you talk to me about work and have adult conversations with me. I love our conversations together. I love that you worked hard and got your PhD and got a good job.
I love that you are trying to stay in shape. I love that you let Jeff come and live with us for a year and a half.
I love that you wouldn't have taken the job in Indiana unless I was ok with it. I love watching you play with your kids. I love your handsome face!

Everywhere Are Signs

Wesley is suddenly using sign language a lot to communicate. It is so fun to watch him. He will get frustrated, then stop and sign, then we will get what he wants and he gets REALLY excited that it just worked!
A few of the signs that he is doing right now are; more, sleep, eat, drink, bird, and dog.

This morning I was at the grocery store with the boys. We walked by an end cap of crackers. He started signing like crazy, but I didn't recognize it at first. I finally realized that he was signing crackers. I was so very proud of him and he was just so very cute, I walked right back and put that box of crackers in my cart. I couldn't help myself.

A Good Neighbor

Brady: "Mom, do we just have insurance or do we have State Farm insurance? Because State Farm insurance is better. They are like a good neighbor and they take good care of you. (Sings) Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!"

-Is this a case of effective advertising or too much television???

Helping Out

Wesley decided to help out by taking the clean dishes out of the dishwasher for me. He licked a few before handing them over to me.

Self Image

We have been enjoying some nice weather lately. The kids are breaking out the shorts.
The other day before school Bethanie asked; "Mom, do I look ok? Do my knees look knobby?"

Really?
