20 Inches

I looked up a centimeter to inch conversion chart. :) Brady was 20 inches long.
We are home and he is adorable and sweet. He is getting more sleep than any of us. :)

He's Here!

Brady Calvin was born at 2:04am on February 9th. He was 7lbs 8.5 ounces. We are still trying to figure out how long he is because the nurse wrote down 51 centimeters.

Pictures to follow!

Candy

Yesterday Sean asked Sadie if she knew why we celebrate Valentine's Day.

She said, "Dad, we celebrate Valentine's day for candy!"

Duh!

The Final Countdown

If I had to be perfectly honest, I would have to say I haven't been the very best of mothers the last few days.
I have been living off of very little sleep, I am having constant contractions, and to top it off "God opened the clouds and said, I hate you Alfalfa", when I woke up with an awful cold and sore throat yesterday morning. :)
My kids are being very patient and very helpful, for the most part. I am sure they can't wait to see their mom get off of the couch!
We are trying to take things one day at a time. My mom will be here Saturday evening. Everyone is looking forward to that.
Last Friday my dr told me that I wouldn't make it to my induction on Tuesday the 12th, I would go in to labor first. At the time it sounded great, but it truly was an awful thing to say to a person! Every moment of every day I am trying not to think about it. :P
So- that is why I haven't been updating my website with cute things my kids are saying. I am in a cloud and they usually have to repeat something a few times to get me to respond.
Stay tuned for some pictures... this baby will come. :)

Nope, Not Tired

A short conversation that was overheard between Bethanie and Sadie;

Sadie: Bethanie are you tired?
Bethanie: No
Sadie: But I saw you yawn!
Bethanie: Oh, I wasn't yawning... I was singing very big, silently.

Two Weeks!

Two weeks from today I am scheduled to have a baby.
WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!
I am doing the pregnant running man as I type. :)

One Smart Cookie

Bethanie's primary teacher in Rochester would always refer to her as "One Smart Cookie". It was so very sweet and I sometimes find myself repeating that term. I thought of that one yesterday when Bethanie was telling me about her day at preschool.
Bethanie told me that they were studying nutrition in school. They were talking about fruits and vegetables, and the good things that we should be eating.
Then she started to laugh.
She said, "Guess what they gave us for a snack today? Three pretzels and four candy corns! They teach us about nutrition, but they don't give us nutrition!"
